Strengthening Partnerships: Colbeck Visits Kepak – the Home of Big Al’s Burgers & Chicken

Our English and Scottish sales team visited Big Al’s Foodservice in Dublin for factory tours, product tastings, and partnership talks — all to bring the best burgers and chicken products to our customers.

At Henry Colbeck, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen our partnerships with trusted suppliers — because that’s how we ensure our customers get the very best products. Earlier this month, our English Field Sales Managers, Paul, Phil, Robert, and Simon, along with our English Telesales Supervisor Sharon, and Scottish Field Sales Manager Danny, travelled to Dublin to visit Big Al’s Foodservice, one of our key suppliers of premium burgers and chicken products.

The two-day trip was packed with factory tours, presentations, and plenty of delicious product sampling — giving our team an in-depth look at Big Al’s quality, innovation, and passion for great food.

Visiting Big Al’s: Trusted Supplier to Takeaways & Fish and Chip Shops

On Tuesday 5th August, the visit began at Big Al’s Ballybay with a full site tour and company presentation. The highlight? The Burger Lab Sampling, where our team tasted:

  • Prime Burger – It’s packed full of Prime cuts of delicious Chuck & Brisket Beef, that’s been raised right and grass-fed in Ireland.  40x150g Big Als Prime Burger
  • 4oz Steak Burger – Big Al’s Steak Burgers are 91% Irish beef burgers, perfectly seasoned giving an elevated flavour profile, delivering outstanding taste. 96x2oz Big Als Steakburger
  • 4oz Flame Cooked Burger – Big Al’s Flame Cooked 4oz Burgers are flame-grilled for great flavour and help ease complexity in the kitchen. 2×2.16kg Big Als Fully Cooked Beef Burger (48s)

Next, it was on to Big Al’s Centre of Excellence in Blanchardstown for another presentation, a behind-the-scenes look at their production, and a cook-up session featuring:

The day ended with a relaxing evening meal at Sweeneys Kilbride, where the team and Big Al’s colleagues could swap stories and strengthen relationships away from the production lines.

Wednesday’s first stop was Big Al’s Poppintree, where our team saw ribsteak production in action. After a quick lunch back in Blanchardstown, the final visit was to Clonee Farm — a chance to see the origins of Big Al’s supply chain and their commitment to high-quality ingredients.

By the time the team headed for Dublin Airport that evening, they had not only sampled some incredible food but also gained valuable insights into Big Al’s operations, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
