The National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 Open for Entries

The Search is on the time is finally here… after a couple of years without these prestigious awards taking place the NFFF have taken the baton and are proud to be the new proprietors of the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.

About the Awards and Entering…

The National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 will see the introduction of a public vote ensuring you have the ability to rally your customer base to support your business. This is not the only innovation to the awards, there will be two new categories of “Environment and Sustainability Award” and “Supplier of the Year”. Some surprises have also been teased during the event.

The remaining categories are as follows:

  • Takeaway of the Year
  • Restaurant of the Year
  • Field to Frier
  • Multiple Operator Awards
  • Staff Training and Development
  • Mobile Operator
  • Quality Accreditation Champion.
  • Best Newcomer

NFFF have also updated the entry and judging processes to encourage as many entries as possible. You can enter using the link from the bespoke awards website.

Andrew Crook also stated, “We hope as many people get involved as possible as the awards have always been a great opportunity to showcase what a fantastic and resilient industry we are, so get those entries in, there are plenty of categories and you have to be in it to win it!”

The deadlines for entries are: For the takeaway of the year category the closing date is 31st August and for all other categories it is 30th September 2022.

Who are the NFFF…

The National Federation of Fish Friers, known commonly as the ‘NFFF’ were founded in 1913 and is run by fish Friers for fish Friers. Representing the 10,500 fish and chip businesses in the UK which has 2.5 million people employed directly in the hospitality sector which increases to 9 million when you factor in suppliers and manufacturing.

NFFF President Andrew Crook said “We are delighted to be bringing the awards back as they are so important as the main driver of standards in our industry.  They are also a fantastic opportunity to highlight key issues that affect our businesses, it is also a great place for operators and suppliers to meet and where many friendships are formed.”

Where and when…

The Awards ceremony will take place on the 28 February 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.  Right in the heart of Westminster the Park Plaza Westminster is situated on the south bank of the Thames directly across from the Houses of Parliament. A short walk for Waterloo Station, for over-ground and underground links and Westminster underground station this hotel could not be better situated. Surrounded by fantastic restaurants and bars it is perfect for anyone attending the National Fish and Chip Awards to extend their stay and turn the event into a mini break.
